I have made my personal homemade cosmetics available to people who are sick and tired of handing their hard-earned money over to corporations who don’t have their best interests at heart.
My natural, skin-nourishing cosmetics are reserved for the use of the discerning consumer (link to article). The type of person who appreciates the importance of what they put onto their skin, our body’s biggest organ (*link to article) and has given up on deodorants, aluminium-based anti-perspirents and commercial cosmetics in general.
Unlike the majority of commercial cosmetics on the market my products actually nourish your skin instead of drying it out, a consequence of the alcohol content and use of preservatives (article abt y I don’t use them).
My vision/goal/mission is to create a community (*link to article explaining Y call my customers my community) of like-minded people who are attentively aware that what they put onto (?? on to?) their bodies is just as important as what we put into our bodies (ask john abt onto/into).
My journey (article abt my story) into creating my own cosmetics was spurred on by a very severe type of psoriasis (link to part of prior article in ‘my journey’).
(insert images of hand/arm)
I have personally avoided the use of deodorants for over 10 years and anti-perspirants for almost 20 years.
The closest I came, before making my own, to using deodorants in the last 10 years was this rock of magnesium (insert photo).
That didn’t have me fooled for long either, it left my armpit smelling as fresh as it had been 2 minutes prior when I just stepped out of the shower. I found it an awkward inconvenience, although my partner did continue with it for a number of years until she, too, got fed up.
I use only the finest, food-based ingredients (except for the essential oils, although ‘food-grade’ we advise against ingesting them). I try to refrain from using over-worked, industry ‘hype’ words like ‘natural’, ‘all natural’, ‘food-grade’, ‘organic’, ‘cruelty-free’, ‘pure’, ‘grade-A’, ‘non-synthetic’, ‘USDA’ ‘not tested on animals’ (all my products have been tested by myself, friends and family).
* Legend has it that when a certain combination of aforementioned buzzwords are chanted to the tune of Pink Floyd’s ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ on the waning crescent moon, you will be transported to have afternoon (herbal) tea with a magical, harp-playing unicorn where he gives you a past life reading and explains the metaphysical state of satori. * Satire* (ask John if I should leave in the * satire* bit, or should I leave out the whole ‘legend has it’ bit?)
These buzzwords hold very little substance. At best we have a relatively small sample of truly ethical producers using these labels and they are few and far between.
Many commercial producers of cosmetics use clever tricks (link to article on tricks cosmetic producers use in order to not have to disclose the full ingredient list and the labels) to hid some ingredients in their product. This is unethical and will NEVER happen with Jeff Pine Cosmetics (as long as I, and my family are in charge)..
I strive for transparency between our products and our community. I aim for the highest standards when selecting the raw materials that make up our product range.
Our use of plastic is as limited as possible. The majority of our products are stored in high-quality glass containers, thus minimising our community’s carbon footprint on the planet.
We endeavour to make the world a better place by providing conscious cosmetics to a community of like-minded people who have the capacity to see the future as a cleaner, happier place than it is now by…
being the change we want to see in the world.
Our products are on a made to order basis ensuring you receive the freshest product possible.
We also offer customizable cosmetics for people with allergies to certain ingredients such as nuts. Simply send us an e-mail making us aware of your allergies and we will gladly personalise whatever product you are interested in purchasing.
